The Worth programme has received acclaim from Euronews channel’s ‘Business Planet’ programme – highlighting the project’s support of SMEs across Europe, helping to break down barriers to cooperation and innovation for manufacturers and designers working in creative industries.

Daniele Clutier, project coordinator based at Institut Francais de la Mode, Paris, featured in the piece to talk about the opportunities that have been created for European SMEs through the Worth project. Clutier points out the challenging and enlightening experience it has been for all involved to partner with highly professional people coming from other industries, other backgrounds and worlds of imagination. This has helped them find the drive to successfully pursue such innovation projects at the same time as carrying their day to day business life.

Worth project participant Samuel Gassman relished the opportunity to talk about how the project has helped his company, not only in terms of producing a completely new product in the form of a 3D printed, interlocking rose gold ring, but also to provide his business with the opportunity to try out new approaches to production and innovation. Samuel Gassman worked with Italian manufacturer Nuovi Gioielli, together they created a technique to 3D print using precious metals.

The Worth project is delivered through a partnership between IFM and Centre for Fashion Enterprise at London College of Fashion, part of University of the Arts London.

The partnerships and products created through Worth will be showcased at exhibitions in London on 10 November and in Paris (date TBC).
